I am Maia Chapochnikoff. born in Neuquén, Patagonia, Argentina.
My passion for languages has been lifelong. It began at a young age when I dreamed of understanding the lyrics of the English songs in the shows and movies I watched. It ultimately led me to my vocation of teaching. I never could have imagined the places that English would take me.
2018: I graduated with an English teaching degree and started my career teaching English in the Argentine public school setting.
2021: I founded My English Journey, an online English school, where I’ve had the pleasure of helping more than 200 people develop their English skills. This experience allowed me to perfect my teaching methodology, leveraging digitaltools and materials to make adults’ language acquisition process engaging and exciting.
2023: I had the opportunity to spend a school year teaching Spanish at a university in the United States. In addition to developing lifelong friendships and fulfilling my dream of being immersed in English-speaking culture, this experience piqued my interest in teaching my native language.
Now that I am back in Argentina, I have re-fallen in love with my language and culture and I can’t wait to share them with English speakers. For that reason, I’ve launched Destination Spanish in 2026.
